Sting resigns Hinman

Greg Hinman's (left) workmanlike efforts last season impressed Sting coach-GM Bob Hamley.

The Arizona Sting announced the signing of defenseman Greg Hinman to a one-year contract, pending league approval.  As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Greg is a very hard-working young man and we're happy to be bringing him back to the Sting," said Sting coach-GM Bob Hamley.  "He really impressed us last season with his speed, grit and determination, and we're looking forward to having him play a bigger role on our defense in 2007."

As a rookie in 2006, Hinman registered 1G-10A-11P in 13 games played with the Sting.  The 23-year-old also scooped up 59 loose balls on the season and logged 18 PIM.

A standout defender with the Western Lacrosse Association's New Westminster Salmonbellies, Hinman has registered 15G-47A-62P-82PIM in 33 GP over the past two summers in British Columbia. Arizona originally signed the Coquitlam, British Columbia, native as a free agent on Oct. 3, 2005.

The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  Their home games are played at the Glendale Arena and their season runs annually from January - April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
